Faculty
Faculty members are selected according to their individual
talents and background within specific areas. Faculty members
are experienced teachers skilled at stimulating and developing
professionalism in our students. Instructors and Guest lectures
are famous industry leaders who have reached the highest level
of distinction in their field.
Training
Training will consist of theory classes, applications of subject
matters studied in the theory classes, management, business
concepts and the elements of personal success. Teaching
methods are fundamental to the success of educational outcomes
at any level.
Teaching is organised in variety of ways:
- Class room instruction
- Training seminars
- Guided Discussions
- Directed Readings
- Case Studies
- Individual and Group Work
- Worksheets/ Surveys
- Role Playing
- Report back sessions and
- Inviting guest speaker/s
- Audio and visual presentation
The specific teaching method used will depend on the nature
of subject being studied and number of students taking the
course. Overhead projectors and handouts allied to a number of
subjects are employed to facilitate learning by the students.
Assessment
MENZIES INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY follows AQTF
regulations and incorporates good educational practice
into teaching and assessment. Assessment for each unit of
competence includes a range of approaches to allow students a
number of different ways to demonstrate competence.
Assessment will include:
- Practical demonstration of competence
- Written tests, assignments
- Case study reports
- Participation in role plays and classroom activities and discussions
- Oral presentations
- Teacher observation
- Role plays
- Performing practical tasks
Practical work takes place in both a simulated environment
and within a practical environment for all courses. Students
must
demonstrate that they are ¡®job ready¡¯ in order to complete
their program.
